Valentine’s Gift Ideas
Who else feels that January gloom? That post-holiday, gray feeling? And here in Utah, it’s actually visibly gray too. Gray, and cold. Gray, cold and sometimes (every Saturday it seems), there’s snow! So, add some layers of white to that gray…
Our Christmas lights and tree came down promptly on January 1, and let me tell you, it was pretty gray for the next two weeks.
Then I had the genius idea to start decorating for Valentine’s Day! A month early is totally appropriate, right? (send me a note and let me know your thoughts…) Well, appropriate or not, it made the gray go away! There’s nothing like felt hearts, little pops of pink and red, and homemade Valentine’s to bring your hearts and spirits up!

Without further ado, here are a few of The Detail Society’s favorite things to inspire+ celebrate the love in your life!
TABLE OF CONTENTS
Nothing says “I love you” like an old-school, pre-digital love note.
Okay, before you keep scrolling here, remember we love details so of course, we have cardstock, stickers, paper, markers, paints, washi tape and stamps on standby. Oh, wait - you have some supplies, too? YES, YOU DO! 👏 Use those scissors to cut out a heart, write some kind words, decorate with your markers (draw a few hearts or a simple pattern!), and voila! Hand crafted valentine complete!
Tape it to your spouse’s mirror, put it in a lunch box, stick it in their truck (my personal fave is to stick notes on the steering wheel - ha). Give your crafted surprise over a fancy dinner and cheers to you, for creating!!
Write your card, place a few of your favorite tea bags in a mug, and you’re all set! You can also add a teaspoon or honey swizzle and local honey for some extra sweetness. Presentation wise, you can add thin strips of paper to make a “nest” for your tea bags, then place the bags in the mug, and add a ribbon around the handle for pizazz. Use what you have to be sustainable and creative. Win-win!
Dyllan’s Pick: This my FAVORITE mug because it keeps my drink warm for a long time!
Who doesn’t need more bubbles in their life?
“I’m a lucky duck that you’re my gal! Happy Galentine’s Day!”
This rubber duck bath bomb is the absolute cutest little gifty and would make the perfect hostess gift for a Galentine’s Day Party! Just add a bottle of your favorite bubbles (champagne or a sparkling cider) and you’re set.
This would also make for a special surprise for your BFF! And then, take it up a notch and serve with these pink retro glasses. Can you say l-o-v-e?!
Alright, still with me? Or do you need another latte? This stoneware mug will keep your hands extra cozy while you sip your sweet, sweet caffeine. And how clever is the handle!?
Simply add a gift card for your favorite coffee shop, or fresh beans from your local roaster to complete this Valentine’s gift for the coffee lover in your life.
Do you need a Valentine’s gift for a special kiddo in your life?
We love making the holidays extra special for our littles, and it doesn’t take a lot to impress them! A sweet card and a little gift will make them feel extra loved. And of course, the details! Start the day with the sweetest floral pink plates for breakfast. Anything you serve will be that much better when you dress the table up, too!
This is our JT’s favorite Valentine’s book, all about Snailentine’s! The beautifully illustrated story shows the power of unexpected friendship and getting comfortable in new situations. This is a must read!
So there you have it, here’s to thinking of Valentine’s Day early and celebrating all the love in your life!
